Position Summary
As a Material Specialist at Oncor, you'll determine and prioritize which jobs will be kitted or filled internally or externally. This role has direct interaction with engineering, construction, and suppliers to determine needs, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and determine what work will be performed by contractors. This position will ensure areas are environmentally compliant, environmental and governmental records are completed timely, and filed according to regulations. You'll also work with logistics team to ensure material is delivered safely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Training will occur at our Midlothian Hub Center with placement at our North Fort Worth location once construction is completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kits material for projects and inventory replenishment.
- Monitor Smartsheet order requests to kit for assigned areas and communicate with stakeholders regarding order status.
- Assist in scheduling and planning of Transmission and Distribution (T&D) outbound logistics operations.
- Checks the accuracy and application appropriateness of requested material.
- Resolves and assist material issues with external and internal stakeholders.
- Supports bulk orderings in Spring and Fall by creating Purchase Requisition (PR) and tracking Purchase Orders (PO) as needed.
- Supports Distribution Automation (DA) program, System Resiliency Plan (SRP) and other special construction projects.
- Handles email box and incoming calls for assigned locations.
- Responds to call-out schedule to support emergency and storms for T&D.
- Docks material and resolve inventory issues.
- Participates in annual inventory counts for T&D.
- Participates in monthly Federal Energy Reliability Council (FERC) cycle counts for T&D.
- Supports T&D system warehousing technical applications.
- Monitors system T&D inventory levels and make adjustments as required to meet inventory value objectives.
- Maintains knowledge of various materials, manufacturers, product description and application.
- Maintains professional and effective relationship with external and internal stakeholders.
- Provides subject matter expertise, recommendations, and field support for Oncor construction and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance, accuracy, and alignment to Supply Chain management's performance expectations.
- Accurately complete, file, and maintain required governmental, Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX), and environmental data.
- Perform inventory counts for yard, warehouse and offsite locations as part of yearly SOX requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Applicants with 2+ years of Supply Chain related experience are encouraged to apply.
- Applicants with an Associates of Arts (AA), Associates of Science (AS), Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) in Supply Chain or Logistics are encouraged to apply.
- Applicants with experience using Warehouse Management applications are encouraged to apply.
