JOB SUMMARY
We are hiring one person for either an ICE Technician II or ICE Technician I based on candidates' qualifications.
Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots power plant control systems, Motor Control Centers, Switch Gears, Transformers, etc. in support of efficient generation of power under varying conditions.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
Performs responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under general supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems using basic principles of field. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Generally follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform required testing of various process instruments and safety systems such as ESD, fire detection and gas detection systems.
Provide general troubleshooting and programming modifications for Programmable Logic Control/Distributed Control Systems and HMI systems.
Provide basic AC/DC electrical system maintenance and troubleshooting for voltages up to 7200V with some supervision.
Completes and publishes calibration and testing reports for documentation purposes.
Assists entry level technicians.
Schedules and coordinates daily activities with supervisor.
Performs general maintenance, configuration and calibration of process and safety instrumentation utilized in the multitude of processes involved in electrical generation.
Serves as a technical resource to operations personnel and lower technician positions.
All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
ICE Technician II Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in a technical discipline and 1 year experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls; Or
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls; Or
High School Diploma/GED and prior military experience for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214 and 2 years experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls.
A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in an Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls field is equivalent to 1 year of Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls experience.
Experience must include 1 year Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls experience in a power plant or other process controlled environment including oil/gas/chemical refining and/or processing or manufacturing.
ICE Technician I Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in a technical discipline; Or
High School Diploma/GED and 1 year experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls; Or
High School Diploma/GED and a certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in an Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls field; Or
High School Diploma/GED and prior military service for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214.
WORKING CONDITIONS
May be required to cross-train in various crafts and operation departments at various times of the year.
May work under hazardous conditions where physical danger exists due to mechanical equipment.
May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
Required to work in a multi-craft crew including Mechanics, Electricians, Insulators, Instrument & Controls Technicians, and Machinist who work together to support the operations of the plant.
May require travel.
May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.
May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.
May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call and call-outs.
