Analytical and strategic support for the wholesale electricity market in Texas. Assists in analytics and research in support of the evolution of the wholesale electricity market in Texas. Works closely with teams monitoring system conditions and market performance to identify trends which may warrant market design changes. Works closely with both internal and external stakeholders concerning issues related to the wholesale market construct within the ERCOT Protocols. Applies principles of electricity market theory to understand and forecast market behavior and outcomes. Investigates methods for data analytics and visualization to develop improved analytical tools. Stays abreast of market evolution in North American and international competitive markets and applies learnings to the ERCOT wholesale market design. Generates and maintains market reports, communicating both technical assessments and strategic insights on market outcomes and future market design features. Assists the management team and senior experts in providing technical assistance to PUCT, industry and stakeholder groups as well as the general public. Models and assesses the merits of proposed changes to the ERCOT wholesale market design.

- Develops and maintains extensive knowledge of the wholesale market and ERCOT grid operations in order to support Market Participant business needs
- Develops extensive knowledge of electricity market theory and how it is applied in competitive energy markets in North American and international competitive energy markets
- Anticipates and proposes solutions to resolve issues within the ERCOT wholesale market and grid operations using power engineering and electricity market theory knowledge and experience
- Develops forecasts of market outcomes and future market participant behavior using either commercial power system economic modeling software or applications developed by members of the team

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Level 1 - No minimum years of experience required in excess of degree requirements
- Level 2 - Requires minimum 1 year job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
- Level 3 - Requires a minimum of 3 years of job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements
