The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.
Technical Settlements Analyst II Pay Range: $68,600.00 - $85,750.00
Technical Settlements Analyst I Pay Range: $55,800.00 - $68,350.00
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Settlements Analyst to join our Settlements team. As key contributor you will:
Independently assist in the design and development of settlement calculations and perform analysis to ensure calculations meet the design of the market. This position plays a critical role in facilitating settlement calculations changes as a result of market design changes through the stakeholder process and conducting analysis to ensure the settlement calculations meet the intent of the design of the market. Working closely with various SPP teams including Markets, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Settlements, and Congestion Hedging departments you will ensure that settlement software and calculation align with market design principles and comply with regulations. You will help facilitate discussions, analyze market and settlement data, and collaborate across departments and working groups to coordinate design changes. This dynamic role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and interpretation of settlement calculations.
Your key ongoing responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop calculations, shadow calculations, policies, and research required to support Market Settlements.
- Utilize statistical techniques and programming languages (SQL, SAS, Java, Linux, Oracle, Tableau) to extract, transform, and analyze settlement data.
- Develop and maintain data processes to ensure accurate and efficient settlement analysis.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies in large datasets and propose solutions.
- Thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the ability to collaborate with internal teams to: document requirements, assist with creation of test data and test cases, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and provide ongoing support for internally developed systems.
- Lead or participate in the identification, development, and implementation of process improvements for the Settlements Department.
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards in Tableau to visualize settlement data and communicate actionable insights.
- Lead or support continued training efforts to strengthen the overall team knowledge of systems applications and best practices.
To be successful as the Technical Settlements Analyst, we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (relevant job-related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement)
- Level II: Two (2) years of job-related experience above education requirements OR Four (4) years of relevant job-related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement
- Level I: No experience above education requirements OR Two (2) years of relevant job-related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement
- Knowledge of electric market concepts and ability to apply understanding in data analysis
- Experience in using various technologies and systems (SQL, SAS, Java, Linux, Oracle, Tableau) for data analysis and visualization.
- Strong documentation skills to support communication of overall development efforts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large and complex data sets
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in mathematics, economics, or other related field
- Experience in utility operations, market design, or RTO operations
- Experience with data manipulation and analysis of large data sets
