Provide technical leadership in the calibration of Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE).
Provide Metrology consulting services to all departments.
Provides technical assistance and consultation for measurement problems to all Metrology Lab disciplines.
Performs research necessary to establish calibration methods for new devices.
Provides direction and problem resolution to Metrology Technicians.
Identifies input on needed revisions and reviews proposed revisions to M&TE calibration procedures.
Calibrates troubleshoots and repairs Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) using advanced Metrology principles and laboratory calibration standards.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Seven (7) years experience in a metrology laboratory.
Basic math and science skills are required to include calculations with fractions, ratios, decimals, scientific notation; some college chemistry and physics beneficial and operating principles of Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) and calibration standards.
Successful completion of Job Qualification cards (JQC's) or On The Job (OTJ) training in specific areas of the lab are required in order to qualify as an independent metrology technician.
The understanding of physical and relational principles behind the operation of measurement devices is essential.
This meets or exceeds ANSI 3.1, 4.5.2.
