DTE Biomass Energy (DTEBE) develops, owns and operates renewable energy projects throughout the United States. Our company converts biogas generated at landfills and at dairy farms into clean, renewable electricity or renewable natural gas (RNG). Pinnacle Gas Producers, LLC is a landfill gas to renewable natural gas (RNG) processing facility that utilizes landfill gas located at the Waste Management landfill located in Moraine, OH. The facility has an inlet capacity is 4.5 MMSCFD and utilizes the Krysol process to purify landfill gas into pipeline quality gas. The pay range for this position is $36.49 - $46.01.
Job Summary
Location: Various, United States
This position is responsible for executing maintenance and operating gas processing facilities at eight dairies in which anaerobic digester gas is processed and turned into renewable natural gas that is injected into a natural gas pipeline. These sites take digester gas and strip carbon dioxide and oxygen out of the gas stream, creating a natural gas product for delivery into natural gas pipelines. At sites not directly connected to the interconnect outside of Manitowoc, WI, the processed gas will be trucked in and injected in the pipeline. This is a rapidly growing business line with potential for future promotion following success in this role. This position will report to the Controls Manager.
The employee will be required to operate and maintain a DOT regulated pipeline. Employee will be subject to random drug screening during employment per DOT PHMSA requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Executes maintenance on compressors, pipelines, conduct electrical troubleshooting, create operational reports, and safely operating a complex renewable natural gas processing plant while maximizing profitability
- Attention to detail, especially with the correct metering of renewable gas, will be critical to success
- Safely, ethically, and profitably operate the equipment necessary for the processing and transportation of gas produced from eight dairy manure digesters into pipeline quality gas
- Calibrates tests, maintains, troubleshoots, and installs all power plant instrumentation, control systems and electrical equipment
- Performs maintenance on motor control centers, motor operated valves, generators, excitation equipment and motors
- Designs and install new equipment and/or system modifications
- Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on DC backup power equipment, process controls, programmable logic controls (PLC) and emission monitoring equipment
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor contractors on specific tasks as required
- Identify safety hazards and recommend solutions
- Follow environmental compliance work practices; identify non-compliance problems and assist in implementing solutions
- Train other team members in the areas of instrumentation, control, and electrical systems
- Perform housekeeping assignments as directed
- Perform equipment safety inspections as required and record results as appropriate
- Participate in small construction projects. Read and interpret drawings, sketches, prints and specifications as required
- Order parts as needed to affect maintenance and repair
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Perform Operations tasks on an as-needed basis and other tasks as assigned
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and have a good driving record
- At least 5 years of industrial experience and/or Electrician experience, showing continuous skill advancement
- Solid background in instrumentation and controls - flow meters, control valves, PLC, calibration, VFD, 4-20 mA signals, gas chromatographs, etc.
- Safety background/understanding - Understanding of OSHA requirements, developing a good safety culture, and implementing safety improvements
