Measurement Specialist is responsible for routine technical tests and inspections on personal protective equipment (PPE) used for the protection of personnel from electric shock. This equipment to be tested and inspected includes insulating gloves class 3 and class 0, insulating gloves, sleeves class 3, insulating, line hose class 4, visual inspections of line hose connectors class 4, class 0, and class 4 insulating and blankets, insulating PVC shielding, hot-sticks, portable grounding jumpers, and hard hats. All tests are required to meet both ASTM and NAIL Standards. Computer work including the use of MS Office and SAP is also involved daily. The PPE Test lab and all lab personnel shall be required to meet, adhere to, and maintain all NAIL eligibility and criteria with required recertification. The measurement specialists will be receiving, pre-inspecting, washing, staging, testing, pairing, inspecting, storing, dating, packaging, shipping, and all required paperwork of PPE to storerooms on time and accurately following rotational schedule and all procedures and policies.
Tasks and Responsibilities

Diagnostic Testing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and accepting Personal Protective Equipment consisting of Class 0 Rubber insulating gloves, Class 3 Rubber insulating gloves, Class 3 rubber insulated blankets, insulating line hoses, line connectors, Class 3 rubber insulatinglinemens sleeves, insulating PVC shielding, hot-sticks, portable grounding jumpers, and hard hats. .

Pre-Inspection and count of all PPE coming into the test lab both new and in-service.

Ordering of replacement PPE as needed.

Washing, sorting, and staging product to be tested using flow tags through each step of the processes.

Set-up of test equipment and performing electrical tests on PPE.

Drying and pairing of gloves and sleeves after electrical testing.

Visually inspecting all PPE for defects. Inflating all gloves and sleeves inside and out checking for defects,

Finalizing, dating, packaging, and preparing for shipping of PPE to the storerooms on a rotational basis, all PPE is exchanged on a 90- day basis for all users except forwith the exception of Line Hoses, Connectors, and Blankets which is exchanged annually. Re-testing on portable ground jumpers and hot sticks performed annually.

Communicating and interacting with various CPS areas for the coordination of PPE exchanges.

SAP input of transfers and receipt of PPE.

Documentation of all analyses of PPE, tracking of PPE failures and stock limits. Create physical inventory count documents in SAP.

Maintenance of dielectric test fluid in test machines for insulating sleeve testing.

Inspection and operation of forklift.

Maintain good housekeeping for a safe and efficient work area.
