AltaGas is someone with a passion and interest in procurement, strategic sourcing and supply chain management to fill a Strategic Sourcing and Contract Specialist I role within our Supply Chain Management (SCM) team. You will support and learn alongside one or more senior Category Managers with responsibility for ensuring our internal partners have the necessary goods and services needed to run the business effectively and efficiently and deliver value for our customers and stakeholders.

While you will primarily support the US Utilities segment of our business, currently comprised of Washington Gas Light Company (WGL) and SEMCO, it is part of our broader, shared services SCM team within the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) organization. This position is based out of the WGL Springfield Operations Center in Northern Virginia. It is a hybrid role, currently requiring at least 3 days a week in the office.
You Will:
- Be involved with collaborative planning and sourcing strategy development; tactical and strategic sourcing for spend categories assigned, including single vendor selection processes and supporting more complex Request for Proposal (RFPs) with multiple bidders; price, risk and value analysis; negotiations, contracting, change order and general contract administration and management; investigation and resolution of issues within the procure-to-pay (P2P) process; supplier relationship management (SRM), and; internal stakeholder management.
- Responsibilities will increase over time based on experience and performance.
- Initial responsibilities will be more supportive and tactical in nature as you learn the business, processes, policies and procedures, supply base, business partners and the company structure.
You Have:

Bachelor's Degree (Business, Finance or Supply Chain Management focus preferred)

0-2 years of relevant experience (on-the-job training provided)

Passion, interest and /or experience in procurement, strategic sourcing and SCM as a career
