Opportunity-Propane Service Tech III

1. Must have a valid Florida Driver's license.
2. Must have a valid Florida Driver's License and obtain a Florida Commercial Driver's
License Class "B" with endorsement code "X", without air brake restrictions, within 180
days after hire and must pass a D.O.T. (Department of Transportation) Physical every
two (2) years or Class "A" with air brakes dependent upon company location.
3. Must be able to write and print legibly.
4. Must be able to read at normal comprehensive level.
5. Must be mechanically inclined.
6. Must have the ability to perform duties responsibly and safely.
7. Company unionforms are required including wearing various forms of protective
equipment to include steel toed shoes, headgear, safety glasses and various other
items.
8. Must be capable of utilizing company mobile device.
9. Must have a keen sense of smell and adequate hearing and eyesight.
10. Must possess tact and suitable personality for customer contact.
11. Must be in good physical condition and capable of doing manual labor.
12. Must be able to read street maps and travel to dispatched locations.
13. Must be capable of being trained in using all types of equipment and instruments
associated with performance of duties.
14. Must be capable of reading gauges and meters.
15. Must be able and willing to direct the work of others in equal or lower classifications.
16. Must be capable and willing to obtain certification to render first aid, artificial
resuscitation, etc.
17. Must be willing and able to work overtime as required.

18. Must become familiar with company's policies, practices and procedures.
19. Must be capable to distinguish between propane and natural gas and recognize
differences in their application, utilization and measuring and handling.
20. Must possess calm judgment and be willing to act on it in emergencies.
21. Must be capable to identify meters and regulators by size and type.
22. Must be capable to visually identify propane tanks by size and type.
23. Must be familiar with provisions in and application NFPA 54, NFPA 58, Florida
Building Fuel Gas Code, and any state required gas code applicable to their job.
24. Must be familiar with piping, valving, operation, and maintenance of company's
propane bulk plant, filling station and service trucks.
25. Must be capable of installing and removing cylinder gas systems, tank and meter
systems and bulk usage systems.
26. Must be capable to make clear and legible drawings and/or written records of work
operations.
27. Must become capable of operating and performing minor maintenance on propane
equipment.
28. Must be capable to use pipe locating equipment and leak detection and locating
equipment.
29. Must become certified to perform P.E. heat fused and mechanical joints.
30. Complete work orders properly documenting materials used and time expended.
31. Disconnece gas service if no payment arrangements can be made.
32. Perform tank, equipment and appliance maintenance.
33. Visually inspect tanks per ASME and DOT regulations.
34. Drive a bulk truck and deliver gas on an as needed basis.
35. Safe operation of boom truck to remove and install customer tanks.
36. Perform other duties as assigned by Service Manager and/or District Manager.
37. Required to be on Call Duty rotation.
38. Must be able to pass the requirements outlined in the Training Grid associated with
this position.
