The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) is a leader in energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide. Our headquarters in Akron, Ohio is currently seeking an Intern/Co-op to join our Lancaster Operations team out of the Lancaster, Ohio facility. The internship will provide educational, hands-on experience to students pursuing careers in engineering under the guidance of the District Service Manager, Field Engineering Services.
This is a Spring/Summer 2025 intern/co-op position. The selected candidate must commit to working full-time (32 - 40 hours/week) during the summer.
- Reading and interpreting assembly drawings, general arrangement drawings, and piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) drawings.
- Shadowing senior engineers to learn more about our products.
- Providing insight and solutions to solve problems for customers.
- Assisting with customer proposals and projects.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited two or four-year program, working towards an Engineering degree
- Current GPA of 3.0 or higher, preferred
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in at least one Object Oriented language is preferred
- Capacity to handle confidential information
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
