This position is responsible for corporate level budgeting and financial planning duties and will work in close coordination with PPL's corporate budgeting team. The Senior Analyst will serve a key role in PPL Corporation (PPL Corp.) budgeting and business planning process including ongoing management and administration of the Company's budgeting activities throughout the year, PPL Services Corporation's ("PPL Services") cost allocation activities and the associated rate case filings, internal reporting to senior management, and special projects that require the expertise of the budgeting section of Financial Planning. Under direct supervision, responsibilities include producing high quality, timely budgeting and planning related work products. Depends on others for instruction, guidance and direction.
This position will report in person on a hybrid schedule and can be based out of PPL's corporate offices located in either Louisville, KY or Allentown, PA
Responsibilities
This position may be hired at the Staff Analyst or Senior Analyst level. Responsibilities listed below reflect those of the Staff level. Additional/varying responsibilities may be included for the Senior level position.
- Coordinate O&M and capital budgeting scheduling and activities for PPL Services and other PPL Corporation subsidiaries as appropriate.
- Provide support for budgeting and reporting activities for PPL Services support groups.
- Perform PPL Services' direct and indirect cost allocation process in compliance with both FERC and PUC guidelines. Provide support related to affiliated transactions for rate case filings, as well as supporting rate case schedules, as required. Ensure the accurate transfer of O&M and capital budget information to PPL Corp.'s corporate business planning model.
- Provide variance reporting for PPL Services O&M and capital costs to senior management monthly and, when requested, conduct ad hoc studies on these types of expenditures.
- Provide support for corporate SEC reporting requirements.
- Contributes to special projects and ad hoc financial analysis at the request of various levels of management under direct supervision.
- Performs other duties as directed or assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
This position may be hired at the Staff Analyst or Senior Analyst level. Level offered will be determined by the successful candidate's background, education & experience.
Staff Analyst Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- At least 2 years of accounting or finance experience, which could include co-op assignments
- Requires knowledge and skills in own discipline; still acquiring higher level skills
Senior Analyst Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- At least 5 years of accounting or finance experience
- Requires in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Self Starter with natural curiosity and willingness to solve problems independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Finance or Accounting
- CFA/CPA
- Working knowledge of UIP Planner budget system
- Capacity to perform analysis while understanding the big picture implications and willingness to solve problems
