Description

Primary Purpose:

Manages and directs projects within the Project Controls department, including creating performance metrics, establishing governance standards, developing change control processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Responsible for the development of work scope, budget, schedule, and resource requirements as well as, preparing, negotiating and approving contracts for contractors or consultants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and coordinates all activities leading to the successful completion of projects including project scoping, timelines, cost estimates and design. Develops and maintains project parameters for project requirements. Provides direction to contractors, consultants, and project team.
  • Analyzes and determines regulatory impacts and requirements of the project.
  • Manages related workforce planning, budget analysis, and prepare budget forecasts.
  • Researches and evaluates available contractors and consultants. Prepares, negotiates, and approves or recommends approval of contracts. Negotiates contracts changes.
  • Testifies before and/or prepares supporting documentation for CPUC and other government agencies concerning cost estimates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Qualifications

Hybrid Schedule:

  • Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • 5 years related experience or equivalent experience/training.
  • Project management knowledge required.
  • Must be able to assess the potential financial impact of a project to the Company.
  • Must possess the ability to review complex problems and propose innovative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management certification.
