There are 2 student positions available. Students may be based out of Airdrie or Sherwood Park offices.
DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Operations Business Services, the Operations Business Services Student will assist with providing a variety of project management support within the individual project functional areas. The functional areas are currently Operations Business Services, Central Design, Regional Projects, and Capital Project Controls. Responsibilities include assisting and supporting customers, supervisors/management, work leaders and employees who are involved with the project delivery processes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
Perform a variety of administrative duties.
Prepare reports and analysis documents as needed
Create construction prints and single line diagrams in mapping system as needed.
Enter data accurately into various systems (i.e. SAP, Project Management Tool, CRM, etc.).
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing policies, procedures and practices; recommend and implement approved improvements.
Assist or backup other Project Assistants across all functional areas as required.
Assist Design Specialist/Technologists and Project Planners as required including approvals prints and REA prints.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to apply judgment in determining appropriate procedures and requirements for various distribution projects.
Basic understanding of electrical system function and distribution operations.
General knowledge of terminology related to project management and power system engineering policies and procedures.
Solid computer skills including proficiency in Office 365 SAP.
Demonstrated aptitude for organization to complete construction packages.
Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; this includes good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Customer service focus supported by solid organizational and time management skills to prioritize numerous projects and competing demands.
Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency in processes and practices.
Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and be planning to return to a post-secondary institution in a full-time capacity
