Job Summary
The Originator is responsible for developing, marketing, structuring, negotiating and closing power and gas transaction opportunities with wholesale counterparties in the Midwest and Northeast regions. Customers include utilities, industrials, municipalities, electric co-ops, and wholesale trading counterparties.Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
·Leads power and gas origination effort to wholesale counterparties in the MISO and NE regions; actively manages and builds relationships with existing and new customers
·Utilizes expert knowledge in power marketing, commodity transaction structuring, and negotiation/contracting to meet/exceed profit and strategic objectives of Vistra Corp
·Acts as project manager with internal departments involved in large scale transactions including structuring, pricing desk, risk, credit, legal, and accounting to quantify/price complex custom deal structures.
Coordinates Origination activities with Retail affiliate to source market products required to support retail products
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
5+ years of experience doing power origination, preferably in the MISO and Northeast regions
Possess strong sales and deal structuring capabilities relevant to power and/or gas transactions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively function in a team environment
Proven ability to apply expert business and analytical skills to capture major deals
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skillsRead the full posting.
