POSITION CONCEPT
The Engineer - Asset Management is responsible for supporting Tampa Electric's Substation/Transmission Reliability Team through data collection, performance monitoring, and strategy development. This role involves collecting, maintaining, and analyzing asset data to provide actionable insights that drive asset reliability and performance improvements. The engineer will assist in the development and implementation of maintenance programs, ensuring all assets are accurately documented in reliability systems, leveraging tools like Cascade and Power BI to track asset conditions and trends. Additionally, the engineer will provide continuous support to Substation/Transmission engineering, operations, and asset management teams by offering data-driven recommendations and maintaining the accuracy of asset databases to optimize maintenance activities and capital project alignment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Facilitate the collection and organization of asset data, ensuring assets are accurately identified, documented, and maintained within the reliability management systems. Support database development and provide strategic recommendations for enhancing asset reliability, optimizing maintenance activities, and addressing emerging issues through effective data management practices. (30%)
2. Maintain and analyze asset data specifically for Substation/Transmission reliability teams. Provide ongoing support to operations and engineering by delivering actionable insights and analysis aimed at improving asset performance and reliability. This includes generating reports and monitoring trends that drive data-based decision-making. (20%)
3. Leverage Cascade and Power BI dashboards to continuously monitor asset performance, track maintenance activities, and identify real-time trends in asset condition. Provide actionable insights based on these trends to proactively address potential reliability issues, optimize maintenance programs, and support decision-making for operational improvements. (20%)
4. Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of maintenance programs and procedures for both transmission and substation assets. (10%)
5. Manage, revise, and maintain the status of capital project recommendations, ensuring they align with asset reliability goals and are updated based on performance data, maintenance needs, and operational priorities. (10%)
6. Conduct field audits to verify the accuracy of asset data, ensuring alignment between field conditions and database records to support informed decision-making and reliability improvements. (10%)

Collaborates with and provides support to the Asset Management group, Substation/Transmission Operations, Engineering teams, and Contractors.

Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
