This is a temporary position that may last up to 6 months.

This seasonal role is essential for PGE's commitment to environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance. It combines hands-on fieldwork with data management and coordination tasks, making it a diverse and engaging position for someone interested in environmental science and energy sector operations. 

Key Responsibilities  

Operate juvenile and adult fish passage facilities 

Assist with juvenile salmonid PIT tagging 

Download and maintain radio-fixed stations 

Assist with lamprey trap and haul program 

Assist with habitat and spawning surveys 

Assist with water quality sampling in the powerhouses and reservoirs 

Assist with wildlife surveys and weed treatment of habitat lands 

General maintenance of facilities and equipment 

Qualifications  

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Related college course work preferred in fisheries or aquatic science.  

Experience: Typically, two or fewer years, in a related field preferred.  

License: Valid driver's license required.

Ability to adhere to pre-established schedule, including start/stop time and break/lunch schedule [typically for nonexempt positions, although some exempt positions may have an established start/stop time]  

Ability to work long hours [typically for exempt positions; if included in nonexempt positions, overtime applies]  

Ability to work a variable schedule  

Ability to report to work and perform work during periods of severe inclement weather  

Ability to consistently meet attendance standards for regular, reliable, predictable, full-time attendance [for part-time positions, change to part-time attendance]  

Ability to work shift schedule  

Ability to work on-call schedule  

Physical Capabilities:  

Computer use (use computer regularly for entire work shift)  

Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lb.  

Carrying up to 50 lb.  

Walking long distances and surfaces over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces  

Stairs that are over 10 steps  

Indoor/outdoor work environment at the plant, office or in the field.
