Summary
Assign and/or direct company personnel responsible for the coordination of contract resources for construction and maintenance of company facilities to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of energy to our customers. This position is in the Program Services group and will have FCCs and contractor direct reports.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will:
- Works with Program Services Coordinators to schedule and balance the workload of construction contractor resources
- Coordinates with contractors to provide timely information and materials for the maintenance and construction of the distribution system
- Coordinates with project managers and schedulers to build projects in an efficient and timely manner
- Coordinates with numerous stakeholders, including but not limited to: PMDS, DPMO, contractors, area managers / customer ops, upper management, and other Programs team members
- Ensures compliance with local ordinances and regulations.
- Ensures timely completion of Distribution program work.
- Provides storm assistance as needed.
- Manages employee activity and cost in support of the business plan.
- Promotes safety awareness and participates in safety meetings.
- Provide training and job-related experience in support of employee growth and development.
- Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.
Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years experience with operations and/or construction of electric utility distribution facilities.
- 10 years of directly related work experience required
- Thorough knowledge of all activities, practices, and processes associated with Distribution overhead and underground construction.
- Knowledge of work and safety practices dealing with distribution construction activities related to confined space entry, OSHA Standards, etc.
- Excellent communication skills required to develop and maintain good working relationships with customers/governmental agencies /contractors and all Oncor work groups
- Computer skills associated with ACIS, Maximo, AEGIS, Word, Excel, Outlook preferred
- Understanding of the working relationship between Oncor and its contractors
- Understanding of contractual arrangements
Measures of Success
- Strong project management, leadership and coordination skills; ability to handle multiple projects at one time over a large geographical area.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction projects safely, efficiently and ensuring projects that are completed in a timely manner and costs are controlled effectively. This will require open and regular communication with PMDS, DPMO, and various Oncor personnel to coordinate activities that will allow for a transparent handoff between organizations.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership necessary to maintain a proper working relationship with subordinates to ensure the flow of information necessary to meet employee's needs.
- Ensure that safety meetings conducted regularly in order to inform employees of what is required to meet company safety standards and to promote safe work practices.
- The successful candidate will be required to oversee the performance of the general administrative functions required to effectively control construction and maintenance activities
- This position will be required to deal directly with the public and/or contractors when handling problems associated with damage to public or private property.
