HOW YOU'LL HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS? 

The Measurement & Instrumentation Tech III will maintain and operate all sizes of gas meters, gas chromatographs, analyzers, odorant equipment, regulators, actuators, relief valves, RTU & SCADA equipment, related communication equipment, valves and valve operators, pipeline filters, filter separators, pipeline heaters, pilot heaters and auxiliary equipment such as electrical generators, and AC/DC equipment. maintain and operate all sizes and types of natural gas pipeline valves, pilot heaters, pipeline filters, filter separators, odorant and CNG equipment Meet operational needs in compliance with partnership and regulatory requirements. Meet higher operational needs in compliance with partnership and regulatory requirements.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 years or more of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel. Strong mechanical abilities and skills.  Detailed knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, RRC, OSHA, NEC, AGA, API, and GPA requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills to interface with the customer base.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair large gate station equipment, including regulators, control valves, heaters, filters/strainers, and other filtration equipment.
    • Complete accuracy testing and calibration adjustments.
    • Monitor and perform all preventative maintenance as determined and scheduled during testing. Track maintenance schedules in the Work Management System (WMS).
    • Perform on-site emergency response maintenance as needed, conduct troubleshooting, and perform corrective measures.
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair CNG and gate station equipment including CNG trailers, compressors, heaters, CNG filling stations, regulators, control valves, heaters, filters/strainers, and any other associated equipment.
    • Understand the technical function and safely operate the Measurement and Regulation (M&R) CNG equipment and related accessories. Perform or manage all scheduling and preventive maintenance on M&R CNG equipment, including operational random and scheduled inspections, general housekeeping audits, and maintenance of M&R CNG stations, gate stations, and CNG fueling equipment.
    • Establish and maintain an appropriate inventory of CNG replacement materials and vendor source list for materials. Track material usage and cost to help project future budgetary needs.
    • Perform on-site emergency response maintenance as needed. Troubleshoot equipment, analyze equipment failures, determine corrective action, and successfully complete repairs.
  • Complete all required calibration, inspection, and documentation utilizing company-approved procedures. Review equipment operating procedures for safety and alignment with accepted Engineering Principles for proper methods.
  • Coordinate and oversee CNG construction and commissioning activities at M&R sites. Maintain schedules and documentation required to track projects, compliance, and equipment location to meet all regulatory requirements. Relocate CNG equipment to required destinations. 
  • Collaborate with company personnel, contractors, and vendors in the installation of gate station regulation, control, chromatograph, odorization systems, and filtration equipment. Troubleshoot and replace electronic and control equipment to ensure effective integration.
  • Ensure that all field facilities related to gas distribution and transmission pipelines comply with Federal, State, and local electrical codes and perform other operational functions as assigned.
  • Coordinate all gate station instrumentation and control installations with division and corporate personnel within assigned territory.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the communication link between field devices and corporate database servers.
  • Construct new facilities and install modifications to existing facilities according to PGS Engineering designs and instructions. Work with division and corporate personnel in the installation of electrical and electronic interfaces for SCADA, telemetry, electronic measurement, chromatograph, odorization systems, and filtration equipment. Replace field electronic equipment to ensure effective integration.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of gas chromatographs and gas quality equipment.
  • Work closely with and monitor the work performed by outside contractors, power, and telephone utilities and provide directions and guidance to junior technicians.
