Become an IS Security Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll lead a diverse team in deployment and release operations in support of centralized management of network technologies. You will lead resources to meet strategic objectives and operational needs that comply to security standards to maintain the integrity of the grid production environment.
We're looking for a leader that is comfortable in operating in a fast-paced environment, that embraces diverse team dynamics, is dedicated to training/ developing staff, and will know how to handle changes to priorities. The IS Security Manager will report to the Network Operation Center (NOC), whom collaborates with internal resources and vendors for escalation and brings resolution to service affecting incidents.
Additionally, you'll:
- Act as escalation support for priority or critical incidents and events.
- Supervise work processes and staff supporting effective deployment and release operations.
- Manage internal/external customer and partner relationships across the organization.
- Support required regulatory and compliance reporting and adherence to federal and state regulations including North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC/CIP).
- Interfaces extensively with NOC leadership on company risk priorities, business and technology investments, and key organizational strategies.
- Directs the tool team in administrative tasks, patching, and enhancements of network/security tools.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities- Supervises the IS team inclusive of all line management responsibilities such as performance evaluation, work schedules and budget
- Performs oversight of the development, implementation and evaluation of information systems security program for assigned programs in compliance with standards and regulations
- Designs, develops, and recommends integrated security solutions for information systems across, product, operating system and customer solution
- Ensures the development, documentation, and presentation of IS security education, awareness, and training activities for users and others, as appropriate
- Leads tasks related to compliance of Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) Plans, including audit log review, security patching, software and hardware configuration management
- Manages investigations into security incidents including data spills, data integrity incidents, and malicious code incidents
- Ensures system security measures comply with applicable government policies, provides configuration management and accurately assesses the impact of modifications and vulnerabilities for each system
- Interfaces extensively with executive leadership on corporate risk priorities, business and technology investments, and key business strategies, providing expert advice on cyber security and risk implications across the company
- Fulfills strategic goals and objectives for the department and provides written and verbal updates to senior IT and business leadership
- Directs the installation and use of security tools, including firewalls and data encryption, to protect sensitive information
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years combined experience performing or leading a cybersecurity, information security and/or information technology function.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- Five or more years of combined experience performing in or leading Telecommunications, Data Security, and/or Data Networks teams.
- Experience working with operational model processes including Outage management, Incident/Event Management, Change and Release Management.
- Two or more years of experience providing IT support within either a Utility, Telecom Provider, or other industry with a Large Enterprise IT environment.
- Experience managing contract services.
- Experience planning and managing operating budgets.
- Experience working with Telecommunications transport systems - Lightwave, Microwave and satellite communications.
- Experience working with data networks - enterprise routing and switching data networks.
- Experience in managing, supervising, or leading a diverse workforce, staff, or team.
- Experience identifying, documenting, and assessing risks, controls, and security requirements.
- Effective decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Interpersonal and customer-facing skills, with the ability to competently discuss complex technical issues with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
