Our Deer Valley Office has an immediate opening for a Metal Fabricator 1-12. The Metal Fabricator will read and understand drawings, perform heavy fabrication, layout job material, operate equipment and tools used in structural/sheet metal fabrication. Build substation control buildings, support the Transportation department with repairs/modifications to company vehicles and trailers. Assures compliance with all APM processes and procedures. In addition, will perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED
-In-depth knowledge of structural steel fabrication process (Stick and Mig welding)
-Basic knowledge of using handheld Plasma cutting equipment
-Complete understanding of reading Steel Fabrication Blueprints
-Experience and knowledge of cutting and welding with Oxy-Acetylene
-Ability to pass Carbon Steel (Stick and Mig) test
-Ability to pass all other written and hands-on tests
-Possess a valid Arizona Drivers License
Additional Requirements:
-Must live within reasonable distance of headquarters (one (1) hour).
-Must work reasonable and necessary overtime
-This position requires working with aerial equipment, which has weight restrictions of 350 lbs or less
-The established headquarters for this position is subject to relocation to the Hub West Service Center, a facility that will be located 38 miles west of downtown Phoenix, on a date to be determined by the Company
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with sheet metal work
-Experience in a Utility Industry (substation/ power line applications)
-Structural repair of mobile equipment
-Silver solder, high pressure hydraulic tubing experience
-Ability to work in a team environment
