Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join our Generation Engineering team! This dynamic team supports systems across our diverse generation fleet, including thermal, hydro, RICE, solar, BESS, and wind power generation assets. The role involves performing complex engineering tasks using various tools and resources, applying independent judgment in sophisticated situations.Key responsibilities include designing and implementing controls logic for plant performance improvements, modifying or upgrading Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), supporting Project Engineering with control system updates, and assisting in specifications and contract controls-related planning. Additionally, you will act as a subject matter expert on cybersecurity issues related to control systems, manage vendor and contract relationships with control system companies, coordinate with IT on DCS server work, train plant personnel in maintaining and operating control systems, support simulators for plant operator training, respond to emergent control-related issues, support commissioning of control systems at new facilities, and provide ongoing operational support while managing replacements or upgrades of existing control systems.

What you will do

Independently performs work on a variety of complex assignments requiring in-depth analysis to determine appropriate solutions to solve problems.

Identifies problems and solutions and makes safety suggestions to maintain a safe work environment, using tools and standards to design safety into operating and maintaining equipment.

Manages project budgets, including processes accruals, and communicates anticipated changes in the budget. Applies FIN 102 requirements when executing requisitions, receipts, and related project tasks.

Understands various corporate financial statements and can differentiate how project implementation and property unit catalog (PUC) citations will impact the rate payer versus the shareholder, including providing input to PUC modifications as appropriate.

Supports Generation facility outages.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Within an engineering program that is accredited through the Engineering Accreditation Commission

7 years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Project management leadership experience preferred, along with ability to deal with subcontractors and cross-functional teams; may have expertise in a particular area of the discipline.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
