Description
PURPOSE

The SharePoint System Analyst I will design, implement, manage, and maintain our SharePoint environment. Key responsibilities will include analyzing user needs, configuring site structures, managing permissions, developing custom workflows, troubleshooting issues, and providing end-user support. The primary goal is to ensure efficient collaboration and document management within the SharePoint platform. In addition, the role will involve gathering, organizing, and documenting requirements, recommending SharePoint solutions and enhancements, and developing tailored solutions to meet these documented requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer, configure, tune, and maintain the SharePoint environment, including site structures, permissions, workflows, and user access.
  • Perform daily support for the SharePoint platform, including troubleshooting issues, monitoring system performance, and providing end-user assistance.
  • Participate in business analysis activities to gather and translate business requirements into specifications that will be used for SharePoint implementations.
  • Support data migration and integration with other systems as needed for SharePoint projects.
  • Collaborate closely with business units and other IT teams to ensure successful SharePoint implementation and ongoing support.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement best practices and guidelines for SharePoint administration and usage within the organization.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with the organization's technical and architectural team members.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to end-users on SharePoint features and functionalities.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the organization's business processes and how SharePoint can support them.
  • Generate reports and documentation related to SharePoint usage, performance, and system health.
  • Document and track test failures, application defects, and inconsistencies discovered in testing.
  • Participate in the development and execution of test plans for SharePoint solutions, including documenting and tracking test results.
  • Apply quality principles and best practices throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Resolve customer problems, analyze user needs, and gather requirements for SharePoint solutions and enhancements.
  • Work with developers, software engineers, database administrators, and other IT resources to troubleshoot issues and ensure system efficiency.
  • Design, develop, and implement custom workflows and solutions within the SharePoint environment to improve collaboration and document management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a computer-related field, industrial certifications and/or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in software support and 5+ years in Information Technology; Utility industry experience a plus.
  • Background in MS Office 365 Applications (Implementations, Development & Design of Power Automate, PowerApps, Power BI, SharePoint), Analytics and BI tools. Cognos, Tableau, Oracle BI/OTBI, SQL, Power BI, preferred.
  • Experience in software implementation, support, testing, and troubleshooting software applications.
  • Background in software testing, both manual and automated,
  • Experience in programming languages, relational databases engines, enterprise database tools, data extraction, transformation, and load tools (ETL) tools. Oracle databases, MS SQL Server databases preferred.
  • Experience in identifying, documenting, and verifying software application requirements, identifying, and mitigating risks, and providing accurate and timely technical status reports.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical/complex ideas in written and oral form with users/stakeholders and executive management.
  • Professional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be a self-learner and starter who can work independently or with teams.
