Summary
The System Service Representative 1 is responsible for working service orders involving the disconnecting, reconnecting, setting, reading and investigating of meters and/or service to residential, commercial and industrial premises. This job involves learning advanced skills of cutting or reconnecting of electric service at a weatherhead, pole, handhole, transformer or at a line fuse link/disconnect. Employee will learn to work orders that involve pole climbing or use of bucket truck. These orders must be worked safely and in a prescribed timeframe resulting in proper delivery and measurement of electric energy.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Other Duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent:
- Learn to use proper test equipment to determine proper voltage and guard against faulty or hazardous conditions.
- Learn to disconnect/Reconnect service through the use of advanced skills involving the meter, weatherhead, handhole, pole, transformer or fuse link/disconnect for installation less than 600 volts.
- Learn to assure service orders are completed within a specified time frame over a diverse geographic area, while meeting Company safety rules/regulations.
- Learn how to operate a bucket truck and how to safely conduct pole climbing activities.
- Learn to evaluate premise for proper meter and service delivery and recognize/investigate any diversion of energy through inappropriate or faulty wiring or metering.
Education, Experience, & Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Texas Driver License.
- Certification in use of volt, ohm and amp meter and load/fault device.
- Successful completion of Measurement Services System Service Rep. Senior Training orientation program
- Basic PC skills.
- Experience as Electric Field Service Representative a plus.
Measures of Success
- Demonstrates knowledge of metering applications to include proper socket wiring, voltages and dangers associated with those applications.
- Demonstrates ability to recognize sub-standard metering installations and take appropriate action.
- Achievement of quantitative, qualitative and cost metrics.
- Interaction with internal and external stake holders to resolve issues in accordance with Company policies and standards.
- Demonstrates contribution to workgroup and Company goals.
