Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Includes, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides detailed planning by developed scopes of work, identifying, and estimating manpower and material requirements, and identifying all associated activities required to accomplish the work.
- Creates/develops schedules in support of Planned Inspection Outages and/or Projects as needed. Creates documents, including cost reports, memos, graphs, charts, tables. etc.
- Coordinate and interface between various work groups.
- Gains cooperation and action from people not under employee's direct reporting. Reviews and updates outage plans/work packages as needed.
- Ensures resources are used in a cost-effective manner.
- Supports and emphasizes the importance of safety and environmental policies. Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them.
- Initiates and tracks progress of work using work management systems (ex: routine and outage backlogs).
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment and power plant environment which requires working in all weather conditions around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous material, and chemicals.
- Requires operation of a motor vehicle.
- Work overtime and non-standard working hours as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma and a minimum of 8 years of related plant experience or Bachelor degree in an Engineering, Business, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- 5 Years of Outage Planner/Scheduler experience.
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of power plant systems and operations.
- Knowledge of Accounting and Budgeting.
- Strong background in SAP Work Management/Procurement and P6 preferred.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to use a personal computer and standard business software. Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of SAP and P6 is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Capital vs Expense and the Accounting associated with Project Budgets.
- Creating Requisitions to support major projects and routine outage work.
- Basic understanding of the processes, systems, assets, resources, key personnel, and functions of the Maintenance and Engineering Department.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) at all levels of the organization
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals
- Demonstrated sound business skills necessary to accomplish assigned tasks
- Ability to perform as a team member or leader in a cross-functional team environment and achieve consensus decisions
- Ability to read, create and follow written policies and procedures
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Knowledge of estimating techniques
- Ability to understand and use work management systems
- Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations
