About the position:
Distribution Design Associate - DER Renewables Team
The Distribution Design Associate (DDA) works in a team environment to manage the processing of DER interconnection applications through their lifecycle. The DDA works with external DER developers / installers, the DER Integration Team, System Planning, Region Engineering and Customer Service groups to ensure that DER interconnection projects progress efficiently through their lifecycle, including these functions:
- Leverage tools such as the Ameren Illinois PowerClerk portal, the Aggregated Net Metering Portal, CSS, SharePoint, CRTS, Maximo and AMV.
- Initiate billings to the customer or DER developer for application, interconnection study and Ameren construction fees. Posts and tracks payments received.
- Understand and apply the Illinois Administrative Code Parts 466 and 467 to ensure that interconnection applications adhere to the requirements contained in these codes.
- Validate interconnection applications to ensure that all required information has been provided.
- Interface with System Planning to ensure that larger interconnection applications are queued for their study / review and that interconnection queues are accurately maintained, with projects advanced in the correct sequence and timing.
- Interface with System Planning and Region Engineering to ensure that interconnection cost estimates are provided in accordance with applicable timelines.
- Schedule and coordinate regular status meetings for DER developers that are engaged in multiple, larger DER projects, ensuring that the correct AIC resources are included to address project scheduling and construction topics.
- Address ad-hoc interconnection application related questions from DER developers and, as needed, engage other AIC resources to address complex technical interconnection questions.
- Interface with external consulting resources to provide guidance as needed for DER interconnection tasks carried out by these consultants on residential level interconnection applications.
Qualifications:
Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field preferred.
Three years relevant utility industry experience (e.g., design or construction experience on electric or gas distribution lines, experience with distributed generation interconnections like solar and wind, field operational experience working with utility contractors, customer representatives or construction personnel) may be considered without required Associates degree.
