Summary

Spire is hiring a Retirement Benefits Analyst to work from our downtown St. Louis offices. The Retirement Benefits Analyst will be part of a team responsible for the development, implementation and administration of various retirement and savings programs.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes bi-weekly 401k contributions, reconciles file with payroll contributions, and directs AP to fund the contributions after receiving the appropriate authorizations
  • Execute/monitor various secure data feeds to off-site benefits and third-party administration vendors for all DB, 401(k) and deferred compensation plans
  • Responsible for the execution of annual compliance activities including non-discrimination testing, 5500's, PBGC filings and plan audits
  • Provides support to employees on issues related to 401(k) and pension
  • Research and prepare documentation that ensures all retirement plans are in compliance with all applicable laws, including ERISA
  • Provide support to multiple Spire retirement committees (Retirement Plans Committee, 401(k) Investment Review Committee, and Pension Investment Review Committee)
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and set up payment requests

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Human Resources, or similar business discipline REQUIRED

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • 3+ years of experience in qualified and non-qualified retirement plan administration REQUIRED
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to interpret and communicate data REQUIRED
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate skills with Excel REQUIRED
  • ADP, Fidelity, and SuccessFactors experience preferred
  • Ability to work with and manage strong vendor relationships preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Work is performed in a shared, open-office environment
  • Hybrid Working Hours: Typically, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with the option to work remote 2 days per week following onboarding
  • Requires work during nonstandard business hours with occasional travel
