In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations, we are currently hiring for a Work Management Coordinator.  

The Work Management Coordinator is instrumental in ensuring a world-class support service to deliver predictable outages supporting the success of our site Business Plan and setting the example for nuclear safety by communicating the Nuclear Safety message, contributing to the development and growth of a Nuclear Safety Culture.

This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario.

What will you be responsible for?

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, and create and maintain a work environment that motivates, supports and encourages staff to perform the assigned tasks in a professional, effective and efficient manner, consistent with the philosophy and goals of the business.

  • Act as a coach and facilitator to create and sustain a non-threatening, supportive team environment, actively working with the staff to empower them to attain optimal work performance with a high level of personal responsibility and self-management.

  • Demonstrate openness and trust through the sharing of information, and by being visible and accessible to employees, to enhance and develop their skills and prepare them for future roles.

  • Establish performance measures and perform reviews. Provide clear expectations and meaningful feedback and recognize and reward achievements.

  • As the designated point of contact, be fully accountable for the effective and efficient management for all programs and procedures relating to scheduled activities including coordinating maintenance and operations staff by using the online 13-week rolling schedule process, the planned outage management process and station work programs/projects process.

  • Be accountable for monitoring the work being performed to completion, as scheduled. Perform/attend readiness review sessions, vertical slice reviews to obtain an awareness of adherence to, and the effectiveness of the Work Management Processes. Provide predictive reporting, statistical reports, and other cost scheduling progress and performance reports. Analyze data and submit recommendations to Managers for use by senior management.

  • Attend carry-over meetings, post outage / project meetings directly after execution. Identify significant events, lessons learned, analysis, accomplishments and failures, problems, and corrective actions.

  • Review and analyze planning and reporting techniques, and cost and scheduling methods in use, outage, and online processes internally and externally, for adoption by the station.

  • Contact other organizations to discuss their planning and reporting techniques and assess their values.

  • Review literature pertaining to cost and scheduling, outage and online techniques and methodologies with a view to make and develop recommendations based on Industry best practices for Work Management.

  • Consider their advantages of performance evaluation and review techniques, critical path measurement, time motion study, and computerized project management tools and other aids, which would improve existing program techniques.

  • Assess all such information, develop new techniques, as required, conduct trials, and implement, obtaining financial authorization from Manager, as approved.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute work programs/projects effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability in preparing reports and delivering presentations.

  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills. Has an effective personal work management approach which assures work is organized and delivered in a timely manner and is of appropriate quality.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and take independent action as appropriate.

  • Good oral, written communication skills and attention to detail is key.

Education and Experience:

  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of Grade XII plus 3 years further concentrated study.

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a nuclear facility is considered necessary to gain this experience.

  • Requires experience to exercise sound project management and communication skills to meet targets.

  • Proficiency in understanding the interrelationships and work programs of various groups within a nuclear facility.

  • Experience in scheduling and planning.
