Project Overview:

Bechtel Equipment Operations, Inc. (BEO), a wholly owned Bechtel affiliate company, functions as the construction equipment asset manager of Bechtel Group and is actively engaged in projects across all of Bechtel's business lines. In support of its involvement, BEO uses sophisticated estimating and scheduling systems to assist projects in developing bid proposals, equipment lease versus purchase analysis, tool and consumable utilization forecasts, scaffold estimating and supply, and overall construction fleet utilization plans. Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, BEO also manages several permanent global equipment storage and support facilities. 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support a project by performing technical or commercial logistics work. You will be responsible for domestic and international multi-leg shipments, ensuring safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements. You will assist the project logistics lead with shipment tracking, performance metrics, audits, and logistics studies to ensure project requirements are met. #LI-CS1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Typically part of a project deployed team or based in a center of excellence support role and performs work in a Logistics estimating, operations, or commercial role supporting a small sized project with limited scope as a deployed, dedicated resource in the home office or field
  • Performs domestic and international multi- leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements
  • Coordinates shipments with requisite internal and external entities
  • Ensures entry of shipment tracking data into Oracle Transportation (OTM) and other functional tools/systems to provide visibility shipment status
  • Prepares Logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements
  • Ensures audit and processing of Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures
  • Participates in identifying transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers
  • Assists the project Logistics Lead as requested.
  • Files and resolves Logistics Service Provider claims
  • Assists with preparation of Logistics Service Provider commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents
  • Participates in the preparation of logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility visits
  • Integrates safety requirements and measures in all Logistics activities

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Entry-level position.
  • Learns to use professional concepts.
  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. 
  • Demonstrated oral and written both English and Spanish communication skills.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence/analytics tools such as Power BI and scheduling software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of DSCS (Digital Supply Chain System) and OTM tools, procedures, and trainings.
  • Knowledge of importing and exporting formalities and processes
  • Knowledge of domestic and international trade and delivery terms, Incoterms
  • Knowledge of industry packing, marking, and shipping requirements.
  • Knowledge and practical application of Incoterms (2020)
