Primary Duties and Accountabilities:
- Preparing and Calibrating RP portable instruments to be used by the RP organization throughout the Entergy Fleet in accordance with Entergy procedural guidance.
- Perform minor and major component lever repairs to RP portable instruments.
- Perform independent, specific roles such as outage support and online support to the Fleet RP organization or other duties integral to the Radiation Protection site program.
Job Scope:
- Perform and Assist in the RP calibration and repair.
- Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization
- Ensures the fleet RP instrument calibrations and repairs are performed as safely and efficiently as possible.
- Proposes time saving tooling and work methods.
- Performs all lab activities within regulatory and procedural guidelines.
- Communicates lab technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
- Participates in the shared resources program.
- Assists the lab supervisor in providing site and fleet management a projection of equipment inventories
- Assists the lab supervisor in developing and maintaining an equipment inventory schedule that provides for maximum equipment availability during outage support periods.
- Provide projections to site and fleet management on requested instrument needs based on available inventory.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Desired: Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related technical degree; Naval Nuclear Power School and Engineering Laboratory Technician School, or equivalent work experience
Minimum experience required of the position:
All Fleet RP Calibration Techs must meet ANSI 3.1 1978, Section 4.5.2 for Technicians:
Senior Instrument Technician: 6 years nuclear experience; Technical understanding of Health Physics Instrument principles and operations; At least 2 years of Hands on calibration and Repair experience at the facility; Outstanding communication and conflict management skills; Proficiency with current computer business applications.
Instrument Technician: 3 years nuclear experience; Technical understanding of Health Physics Instrument principles and operations; Proficiency with current computer business applications.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Technical understanding of nuclear Health Physics Instrumentation principles and operation.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities of the position:
Meet requirements of ANSI 3.1 2014 for Radiation Protection Technician.
