Purpose and Use:

We have a great opportunity with our Customer Data Services team at Madison Gas and Electric for someone that enjoys supporting teams and ensuring data quality. The ideal candidate will come from a regulated industry (utilities, healthcare, insurance, banking, etc.) where they have been successfully demonstrating qualities of accuracy and strong basic computer skills. Our team is highly collaborative and capable.

The Data Integrity Representative is a role that is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and consistency of data within our metering area. This role does not require a degree, but does require attention to detail, good familiarity with data systems, and the ability to work well with departments to ensure data quality. The Data Integrity Representative is responsible for supporting the data management efforts of the organization by ensuring that data is entered correctly, maintained properly, and updated as necessary. The role involves verifying data accuracy, identifying inconsistencies, and working with teams to resolve any data-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter and update data in the organization's systems, ensuring it meets accuracy standards
  • Verify and cross-check data from electronic systems for accuracy
  • Identify discrepancies and errors in data and take steps to resolve 
  • Ensure consistency of data between systems and maintain data integrity across all platforms
  • Assist in routine data audits to check for missing or incorrect information
  • Collaborate with team members or other departments to resolve data-related issues
  • Maintain proper records of data entry procedures and data quality checks
  • Assist in the creation of reports or summaries of data issues or improvements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in data integrity or a related field
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license along with a clean driving record
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management tasks
  • Good basic computer skills, including experience working in Excel spreadsheets and data entry systems
  • Professional communication and collaboration skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify data inconsistencies and propose solutions
  • Displays a positive attitude towards tasks and other people, and is dependable
  • Ability to securely handle confidential data
