Summary 

This is an entry level position to prepare a new member of the HR team to provide counsel and guidance to various levels of line management to help ensure the Company's programs are consistent with applicable Federal and State statutes and regulations.  Areas of specialty include employee and labor relations, leave administration, recruiting, and organizational design and development.  

Key Roles & Responsibilities   

Directly or through others, the incumbent will: 

  • Establish partnerships with business management and gain an understanding of business objectives, operations, and financial drivers and how they support Oncor's overall strategy.
  • Works as HR team member working with Business management to execute short, medium and long range tactical HR plans.   Consult with HR team members and business management to help ensure consistent application of HR policies across the Company.  
  • In concert with other HR professionals, conduct investigations into allegations of employee misconduct, and partner with business management and Legal to determine and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Support the Labor Relations team and line management in the tactical execution of the Company's Labor Relations Strategy and assist in the administration of the current Labor Agreement.  
  • Assist Legal in the preparation of the Company's cases in employment-related litigation (EEOC, Worker's Compensation, and Federal and State courts).
  • Expand personal knowledge and expertise in Organizational Design, Leave Administration (Workers Comp, FMLA, Salary Continuation, and LTD programs), Staffing & Recruiting, Employee Relations and Labor Relations.  
  • Conduct all HR activities in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local regulations and ordinances.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.    
  • Works under instruction of other HR team members.

Education, Experience, & Skills

Education 

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or Business is preferred. 
  • Relevant HR experience is preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex scenarios and reach conclusions.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local employment regulations.
  • Knowledge of project management processes.  
  • Knowledge of research methods and tools.
  • Proficiency in business communications both written and oral.
  • Frequent travel between Company facilities.
  • Knowledge of Labor Law and Labor/Management Relations.
