Job Description:
Idaho Power located in vibrant Boise, Idaho is looking for two Engineering and Construction Project Manager or Seniors to join our Resource Execution Projects team in the Planning, Engineering, and Construction department with a focus on new supply-side resource projects primarily consisting of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Wind, Solar, and other technologies as applicable.

The addition of new resources is critical to ensure Idaho Power can continue to reliably meet the growing demands on its electrical system and serve its customers.
While this position is based at Idaho Power's downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.
What does an Engineering and Construction Project Manager or Senior do for us?
A Project Manager on the Resource Execution Projects team is responsible for all facets of project management of a variety of resource-based projects. Idaho Power is expanding our energy and capacity resources through a diversity of contract structures and requires project managers experienced in implementation of renewables, storage, and new energy technologies that achieve corporate goals relating to system capacity, reliability and financial performance.
They lead the successful development and execution of project plans, including safety, scope, cost, schedule, cash flow, quality and risk for multi-discipline construction projects. They lead project team members and subject matter experts and direct performance of the team to achieve completion of the project on schedule and within budget. They typically lead multiple projects simultaneously and exercises latitude and technical judgment in decision-making and independent action.
Key tasks include:
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects:
- BESS procurement and contract negotiation
- Project siting and permitting including public outreach
- Engineering and design
- Owners Engineer management including quality control, design review, and technical coordination
- Material and equipment procurement
- Construction management
- Inspection and quality control
- Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) contract negotiation
- Project close-out and operational support
- Contract management of resource contracts that may sell a completed project and assets to Idaho Power through a Build-Transfer Agreement (BTA) or sell energy to Idaho Power through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Battery Storage Agreement (BSA), or similar.
