Description
The role consists of a variety of responsibilities and the mechanic will:
- Fit, align, adjust, and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and operating requirements.
- Test assembled parts.
- Repair units or parts that have failed to meet specified functional performance.
- Disassemble and inspects heavy sub-assemblies.
- Load and unload material from trucks to storage area and move with workspace using forklift, handcart, or another device.
- May exercise own technical judgment.
- Operate drill press, lathe, and milling machines.
- Inspect components using micrometers and complete inspection form.
- Disassemble heavy equipment, pneumatic impact tools, torches, and hydraulic tools.
- Secure rigging and operate overhead cranes.
- Assemble heavy components by heating, bolting, and welding.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- 2-4 years experience and formal training in machining, welding or mechanic technology
