As a Manager of Regulatory Financial Planning, you'll leverage your skills in corporate financial reporting, data analysis, and visualization to build impactful financial solutions.

This is a hybrid-remote position reporting to either the Madison, WI or Cedar Rapids, IA office.

What you will do

  • Oversees a team that supports regulatory financial analysis, including strategic regulatory financial planning for regulatory filings for customer investments and rate case filings.

  • Develops company positions and responses to financial regulatory recovery issues and provides recommendations on courses of action to leadership and other business units, then supports the implementation of regulatory financial decisions into financial planning and results.

  • Oversees preparation of regulatory filings in coordination with state and federal regulatory teams, including written expert testimony preparation and evidence to support financial recovery mechanisms and ensures clear and compelling messages are aligned with the corporate strategy.

  • Analyzes, evaluates, and develops forecasting models. Ensures measures are in place to identify, assess, respond, and communicate risks and opportunities.

  • Continuously identifies and implements improvements in risk management and operational efficiency. Maintains working knowledge of company strategy, initiatives, and risk profile, applying strategic knowledge in making business recommendations.

  • Partners and collaborates with key stakeholders to develop solutions for better financial or strategic outcomes that align with the company's overall strategic plan.

  • May be responsible for helping implement legal and accounting requirements, including rate order.

  • May be responsible for assisting in the defense of company positions, including rate case revenue requirements and business segment/jurisdictional cost allocations to include responding to data requests.

  • Engages in other duties as needed that support our Values and help deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related area preferred

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • Certification Certification Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred

Required Experience

  • 5 years of professional experience in financial planning and analysis, or related experience

  • 3 years supervisory experience or equivalent. (Equivalent supervisory experiences may include project management, providing work direction, leadership experience through temporary assignments, roles in the community or external organizations, or other demonstrated progressively more leadership experience.)

Preferred Experience

  • Public accounting experience or utility, manufacturing, or related industry experience
