POSITION PURPOSE:

The Senior Manager, Digital Centers of Excellence is responsible for planning, leading, and deploying T&I's Centers of Excellence. The Centers of Excellence will provide a focal point for knowledge management that centralizes and communicates all things related to their focus areas including best practices, research, tools, training, and standards. This position establishes the vision and standards for the delivery and implementation of the CoE programs and systems across the enterprise.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

Supervisory Responsibility  Oversees a team of 15-25 professionals with multiple reporting managers, program managers, etc.
Budget Responsibility  Responsible for a budget of over $5-10M annually, including O&M and Capital Projects.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Builds strong cross-organizational relationships; be an advisor to business organizations and broader enterprise to drive and realize enterprise information strategies. Drive strategic and tactical business opportunity and drive the business-enabled culture.

Governs the enterprise-wide CoE program and strategy, enabling technologies and roadmaps. Defines roles and responsibilities, risks, controls, etc.

Establishes and enforces the key operating structure, processes, and standards to enable business-enabled capabilities across the enterprise.

Builds talent by conducting in-person and online training to promote innovation and business-enabled skills development.

Promotes knowledge sharing and provides expertise and consultation for technologies and use cases. Maintains a centralized knowledge base.

Strong understanding of best practices to guide and advise businesses and other stakeholders on value and opportunities.

Identifies, evaluates, conducts feasibility studies and completes proof of concepts for emerging technologies and innovative practices.

Defines a communications strategy and ensures appropriate change management practices are followed to address changes to people impacted.

Provide leadership, leading practices, research, support and/or training for a specific area of focus across the enterprise.

Manage the technology solutions required for strategic business partner engagement.

Leads coordination efforts with other teams and TVA organizations such as, Business Planning, Human Resources, Innovation & Research, Communications and the Employee Advisory Group to maintain alignment of organizational improvement activities and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practices across T&I and other TVA business units.

Supports or leads proof of concept development and deployment to support CoE strategies and roadmaps.

Provides leadership in human resource management. This includes coaching, developing, training, career planning, achieving staffing and hiring goals, managing workforce diversity and supporting union/labor discussions. Ensures individual development programs for employees are adequate such that each staff member is properly equipped to perform his or her job function.

Maintains relevant technical expertise and remains abreast of evolving technologies through interaction with vendors, peers and participation in benchmarking activities and professional conferences/seminars.

Must prepare and operate department within annual budget constraints, both expense and revenue; cost effectively manages the allocation and utilization of assigned assets, budgets and resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education  A Bachelor's degree in a business, computer science, communications or management information systems
related field is required. MBA/Master's degree is preferred.

Experience  Demonstrated managerial competencies such as leadership, delegation, teamwork, coaching and development,
negotiation, plan development, flexibility, and oral/written communication skills. Familiarity with various continuous improvement tools and techniques preferred (i.e. DMAIC, PDCA, SIPOC, process mapping, etc.).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities  Superior ability to communicate and build relationships within and outside T&I at the executive.
