At New Mexico Gas Company, Information Technology is integral to the work we do, and we are seeking a Manager, IT to lead our technical professionals through exciting and meaningful projects!
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Manages various information technology functions, including the following: server, infrastructure, database administration, Intranet, company website, project management and/or system application development, maintenance, support, and interface development
- Maintain a high level of awareness of current and future information technologies and IT best practices. Provide leadership for the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies and improvements to internal IT business processes
- Assign projects, tasks, and support responsibilities to team members. Guide and coach team members to optimum performance, achievement of goals and career development.
- Coordinates and manages all client requests for development, personal computers, telephones, consulting, vendors, request for proposal development and contract review .
- Participate in the preparation and management of department operating and capital budgets. Forecast and manage expenditures within approved budget guidelines and prepare variance reports.
- Ensures proper functioning of various systems; develops service plans for the business unit or service area.
Successful Candidate Must Have:
- A Bachelor's degree
- 8 years of experience in IT (or 12 years of experience, in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Preferences: Strong, demonstrable experience in IT Infrastructure (Server Administration, Network/Telecom design and support, virtual environments, business continuity solutions, data center maintenance, etc.); Knowledge of and experience working with cybersecurity standards and best practices; certifications a plus; Experience creating and managing to operational and strategic budget forecasts; Ability to coordinate, manage and report on several ongoing, concurrent information technology projects and initiatives.
