Summary:
Provides engineering and technical support to personnel in Transmission Regions/Districts on equipment with respect to new construction and in the operation and maintenance of existing equipment infrastructure during routine maintenance and in emergency situations. The primary focus of this position will be 1) Management of Transmission's Drone (UAS) program, 2) Coordination of scheduled and emergency aerial observations 3) Other overhead line related programs

Able to abide by the Code of Conduct and work under the Affiliate Standard of Conduct in the Oncor Transmission Division.
Excellent communication skills with ability to coordinate and interface with technical and staff personnel in the Transmission Regions/Districts along with other T&D support organizations, TGO and DOCs.
Ability to Utilize business computer applications for routine e-mail communication, equipment performance studies, and equipment loading studies.
Requires the ability to requisition material/equipment and replacement/spare parts in support of installed assets.
Ability to work with manufactures and vendors on problems seeking resolution.
Requires good analytical skills for root cause failure investigations on equipment malfunctions/failures.
Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.
Job Attributes:
Requires Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree (BSEE preferred)
Prefer minimum of one year of engineering experience (e.g. utility operations, Transmission or Distribution experience with familiarity of station facility work in installation, operation, or maintenance).
Requires business computer skills including functional use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Applicant must have the following: creativity/innovation, flexibility/adaptability, planning/organizations (prioritization) skills, problem solving/decision making.
Prefer a working knowledge and an ability to effectively use in-house applications.
Prefer knowledge in the area of failure reporting and maintenance procedures within Transmission's maintenance criteria.
Entry position level of Associate Engineer through Senior Engineer will be dependent upon the applicant's experience level, registration status, skills level, and knowledge base.
