As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer specializing in WAN Engineering, you will play a critical role in designing, deploying, and managing our wide area network (WAN) infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of our network, supporting the connectivity needs of our organization.
What your day would be like:
You are responsible for:
- Network Design and Deployment: Lead the design and deployment of robust and scalable WAN solutions, ensuring optimal network performance and reliability.
- Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain WAN infrastructure, implementing best practices to enhance network stability and efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor network performance, identifying and resolving issues to maintain seamless connectivity.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for WAN-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quick resolution.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions to continuously improve our WAN infrastructure.
- Technical: Knowledge of TDM communication technologies (JungleMUX, SONET, PremiSys) and packet based communications (Nokia, Juniper, Cisco); infrastructure management tools and monitoring tools; solution sizing for hardware/software platforms; industry standard security requirements and designs.

Minimum Requirements
Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer
- Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
- AND seven (7) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
- Requires in-depth level of technical knowledge within microwave engineering and communication network engineering.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications
- Knowledge of TDM communication technologies (JungleMUX, SONET, PremiSys) and packet based communications (Nokia, Juniper, Cisco); infrastructure management tools and monitoring tools; solution sizing for hardware/software platforms; industry standard security requirements and designs.
- Microwave engineering experience with Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent, and/or Aviat hardware.
- Skilled in frequency coordination and analysis, tower loading, and budgeting pertaining to microwave location builds.
- Ability to develop and write technical documentation; evaluate and test emerging technologies.
