Description
Primary Purpose

Manages the executive security program to assure the safe, uninterrupted availability of security services for the protection and transportation of Sempra corporate officers, Board of Directors, Sempra utility and global business unit leaders, employees, as well as other designated officials. Monitors intelligence provides risk assessments, audits, and briefings, and collaborates with other departments with mutual interests. Manages the travel security program, special event security, and serves as liaison with the international operating companies and overseas offices. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs and supports four full-time and ten part-time executive security specialists located in the San Diego and Los Angeles areas to include scheduling, fleet maintenance, training, billing, payroll, and equipment management.
  • Manages the Company's Executive Security Program by monitoring intelligence, providing risk assessments, residential security audits, briefings, and reliable and safe transportation to senior Corporate Executives and Board Members. This includes the safe ground transportation of employees to Sempra assets in Mexico.
  • Implements the travel security program and coordinates international ground transportation and protective security in medium and high-risk overseas locations for traveling employees. Ensures appropriate medical evacuation and response countermeasures are in place. This includes the safe ground transportation of employees to Sempra assets in Mexico.
  • Responsible for security of all special events, to include security planning, training, and operations at the annual shareholder meeting, off-site leadership meetings, ceremonies, and other high-profile/elevated-risk gatherings.
  • Manages multiple service level agreements with various international security providers, to include intelligence, risk management, travel security, and guard force management.
  • Collaborates with other departments with mutual interests (e.g., Cyber Security, Travel, Human Resources, and Legal) to creatively provide value to Sempra employees through training, audits, investigations, and consultation.
  • Travels internationally on behalf of the business, to include overnights, weekends, and oftentimes short requests.
  • Advocates on behalf of Sempra Corporate Security within relevant organizations such as OSAC, Infragard, academia, and regional task forces.
  • Supports other security managers during exigent circumstances and upon request.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree: Relevant field of study is required.
  • Master's Degree: Relevant field of study is preferred.

Experience 

 

Required:

  • 10 years of security risk management experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public, or private sector organization, including experience in foreign assignments.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience with a focus on leading personnel and performance.

Preferred:

  • 3 years of business operations experience
