The SCADA and Controls Technician I will provide technical support for the various technical activities within the department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Maintain and provide technical support for the computer systems by repairing, performing maintenance, programming, and configuring the system.
-Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on control and communications equipment in substations and line devices.
-Provide technical support for various systems used to operate Smart Grid equipment such as the SCADA system, Field Device Maintenance Systems, fiber optic communications, and specialized network management systems.
-Work in substations as needed.
-Work on special projects as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-Associate's Degree in a related technical field.
-2 years of related technical experience and/or training.
-Excellent PC skills, including Windows Operating System, UNIX Operating System, and database experience.
-AutoCAD or similar technical drawing experience required.
-Working knowledge of and skills in electronic circuitry, circuit troubleshooting, and repair.
-Basic understanding of distribution high voltage electric systems, low voltage control circuits, and theory.
CERTIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.
-Ability to work under stressful conditions with extreme accountability for 100% accuracy.
