POSITION SUMMARY: The Transmission Line Engineer play a pivotal role in steering the direction and development of customized composite insulated cross-arm (CICA) overhead line solutions for line compaction and upgrading applications. The primary objective is to continuously optimize and refine our design solutions, ensuring they remain at the forefront of competitiveness in the regional market.
Responsibility (For electrical engineer)
- Integrate Shemar’s CICA solution into compact new-build and refurbishing of existing overhead transmission lines ensuring cost and technical competitiveness.
- Conceive, design and optimize transmission lines with composite line posts, braced line posts and CICA up to 420 kV including insulation coordination, specification of clearances, support head geometry, electrical effects, structure spotting, load-strength coordination, span optimization, bill of quantities and cost estimates.
- Produce drawings and reports for complete transmission line design solution packages.
- Actively engage in R&D activities related to optimization of transmission lines with composite insulation.
- Strategically explore and capture business opportunities, aiming to incorporate Shemar's product range and solutions into grid projects.
- Stay abreast with technical standards and codes, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize transmission line projects.
Responsibility (For Structural engineer)
- Independently complete the structural design of transmission lines up to 420 kV.
- Perform structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion and/or construction.
- Conceive, design and optimize transmission lines with composite line posts, braced line posts and CICA up to 420 kV including support head geometry, structure spotting, load-strength coordination, span optimization, foundation design, monopole/lattice tower modeling, bill of quantities and cost estimates.
- Produce drawings and reports for complete transmission line design solution packages.
- Understand and incorporate typical structural code requirements.
- Perform cost effective designs based on industry, company, and/or client standards.
- Stay abreast with technical standards and codes, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize transmission line projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering.
- Over 5 years of experience in PLS CADD and PLS TOWER transmission line engineering in Europe & NA region.
- Proficiency in engineering of compact transmission lines with insulated cross-arms.
- Proven ability in holistic transmission line optimization and cost evaluation studies.
- Familiarity with technical standards and codes.
- Knowledge of all phases of transmission line projects up to 420 kV, including planning, design, procurement, and execution
- Demonstrated experience in developing design solutions for compact transmission lines.
- Ability to perform analyses related to technical, commercial and financial matters.
- Ability to maintain relationships with diverse groups including suppliers and customers.
- Ability to communicate with others to complete work assignments.
