SUMMARY:
Supports PNM load growth and viability to maintain existing major C&I customers and support expansion with both existing and prospective companies. Ensures PNM is well positioned to compete on a national level to attract new business and industry to New Mexico and PNM service territory. Providing economic development research analyses in support of efforts to attract and retain customers for the purpose of increasing rate base and electric throughput. Includes developing preliminary engineering and pricing plans in conjunction with internal stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mobilizes and coordinates activities to develop preliminary engineering and service plans for major companies with >1MW to create customized project proposals and major expansions for existing customers
Analyzes tariff options, obtains pricing quote and recommends tariff
Performs analysis to ascertain Economic Development Rider (EDR) eligibility and guides application process with customer and local regulating entities
Prepares service agreement and assists in final contract negotiation liaising with Legal and Regulatory
Assesses national and regional changes in socio-economic and business trends affecting business attraction and retention
Analyzes load forecasting of prospective and existing C&I customers
Conducts detailed real estate site searches
Assists in compiling proposals and customized solutions for prospects and economic development organizations
Maintains demographic, socio-economic, and land databases including site ready zones and substation capacity availability lists
Supports Account Management to provide customer research and guidance for expansion projects; responds to requests for proposals
Develops and maintains project plans for major projects and maintains Economic Development dashboard
COMPETENCIES:
In-depth working knowledge of sales and marketing practices, market research, promotion techniques including public relations and advertising, electric pricing, service extension policies and procedures, technical services and products, energy efficiency technologies, and power quality issues and programs
Good general knowledge about New Mexico and its communities; broad contacts and experience working with New Mexico business, civic and governmental representatives; a general understanding of governmental and regulatory procedures, a broad understanding of a wide range of business issues, and sound sales talent
Efficiently manages and follows through on multiple requests from all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to build, lead and motivate internal and external project teams, including members from other departments, to assist in meeting economic development objectives
High-level of judgment on broad range of issues, creativity, strong problem solving skills, ability to formulate viable options to address both client and project objectives, and ability to make persuasive sales presentations and address competitive offerings
Strong written and oral communication skills and experience with particular emphasis in areas of developing sales, advertising and public relations materials. Effective writing and presentation skills are a must
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university focused in business, engineering with five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and or experience related to the discipline.
Preferred: Economic/Business Development, Marketing or Customer Management degree.

Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license and meet the company's driving record requirements.
