Job Summary:

The LNG Technician is responsible for helping ensure the LNG facility is in a constant state of readiness and must maintain facility according to guidelines set forth by DOT 49 CFR 193, NFPA 59A, Piedmont Natural Gas policies and procedures.  LNG Technicians perform duties to include but not limited to maintenance duties, operational duties, security duties, and any other duties assigned by plant supervision to keep plant operational. This position is required to perform other job related duties.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must possess a high school diploma or a GED; must have working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical system fundamentals; must demonstrate knowledge to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and make necessary repairs; basic PC knowledge working in a Windows environment; demonstrated effective communication (Verbal and Written) and interpersonal skills; must possess and maintain a valid TN driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

This position contains a weight restriction of 275 pounds as an essential function of the job. The purpose of this restriction is to ensure that all weight-rated equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner within maximum allowed weight loading.

Must work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, lifting up to 50 lbs (8 to 10 times per shift); frequent walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, stooping, crawling, standing, climbing; works on uneven terrain; must be able to climb steps to top of tank and work in high places; work with natural gas, in various states, due to its, natural gas', temperatures ranging from -260°F to 600°F  and pressures up to 1000 psi; manual dexterity (hand/eye coordination); keen eyesight; good hearing; good sense of smell.

Other Requirements:

Must comply with all specifications and guidelines set forth by DOT 49 CFR 193, NFPA 59A, OSHA, all Piedmont Natural Gas policies and procedures and all other duties as assigned. Must successfully complete all training required for position within 24 months. Must pass Company's designated physical. Cross-training in plant operation functions; Must maintain records and log book of all changes, modifications, enhancements and repairs performed on equipment; Assist in plant maintenance functions.  Requires working a rotating shift (shift schedule to be 8 hour or 12 hour) which includes weekends, holidays and overtime work.  This position is responsible to respond immediately to operational and emergency callouts which is subject to a 365 day (24 hour -7 day) basis.
