- Ensures successful execution of the distribution reliability strategy in an effort to meet company reliability goals. This individual will also be instrumental with ensuring alignment with the company's overall distribution strategy in an effort to achieve and maintain premier utility status for the benefit of all customers.
- Ensures that the reliability team adapts to the rapid pace of technological changes and evolution of customer expectations as it pertains to reliable power delivery.
- Ensures that the reliability team and the operating company are focused on better system performance as it pertains to reliability and resiliency while continuing to focus on the affordability of electric service.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership and direction to the Reliability group within the Operations organization. Responsible for development and execution of the distribution reliability strategy which includes ensuring alignment with Grid Modernization efforts, as well as coordinating with groups such as Asset Management, Asset Planning, Operations, etc.
- Orchestrates the prioritization and coordination of all reliability activities with an emphasis on project selections providing the greatest benefit (value targeted, risk mitigated).
- Provides direction and oversight of all reliability-related system inspections, design, and construction activities.
- Provides leadership for Reliability related activities, including but not limited to outage data review to identify root cause and establish appropriate remediation plans, engineering activities, etc.
- Strengthen the proactive reliability culture and associated employee behaviors that support both short- and long-term reliability efforts, both within the Reliability group and throughout the entire Operating Company.
- Fosters an environment focusing on continuous improvement in Human Performance and Change Management.
- Coordinates with Planning and Performance Assurance (PPA) to develop KPIs necessary to monitor ongoing system performance and adherence to plan execution. Monitors each component of the reliability plan execution and ensures plans are delivering expected value benefit.
- Performs analysis and trending to ensure programs and plans are addressing reliability and asset performance.
- Assists with regulatory responses, analysis, and reporting as needed. Ensures availability of all necessary internal/external reporting, including support with providing necessary ongoing plan info and system performance tracking to key external stakeholders
- Develops future technical leaders through mentoring and challenging assignments.
- Develops strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster open communications (D Ops, Engineering, Customer Service, Public Affairs, Communications, Regulatory, Transmission, etc.). Able to represent Entergy at meetings with these same internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides financial oversight of plan execution and establishes necessary cost controls to ensure projects remain on budget.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
BS in Engineering or Business degree
Professional Engineering license desired
Minimum experience required of the position
2 years of Transmission or Distribution supervisory experience or
7 years of Experience in the utility industry (e.g. Transmission or Distribution design, operations, construction, or reliability) or
7 years of Project and/or program management experience
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
