Job Specifications

Responsible for contributing to the Company's fulfillment of financial goals by providing project financial analyst and project controls support for individual Tier 1 and 2 projects and as a portfolio for the natural gas and electric utility organizations.  Coordinate activities such as invoicing, financial reconciliation and analysis, accruals, project budgeting and forecasting, and financial monitoring and reporting.

SALARY RANGE: $52,800 - $79,250 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  Manager, Project Delivery Office

LOCATION: Rapid City, South Dakota

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide project controls support to the natural gas and electric Project Managers and Senior Managers, including assistance with development and refinement of project budgets, cash flows/forecasts, monthly accruals and research/assistance with specific issues. 
Assist with financial analysis and reporting, such as monthly accruals report and project management monthly reports.
Support the quarterly loadings rate update and time coding queries processes.
Initiate the invoice process by verifying and authenticating invoice amounts to the contract terms, entering accurate coding, and ensuring proper invoice routing and approvals.
Perform actual cost imports and reconciliations in a timely and efficient manner.
Perform contract spend control audits and change order analysis and tracking.
Perform Work Order and contract spend analysis and comparison to approved contract value, budget and Estimates at Completion (EAC).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish positive, professional relationships throughout Black Hills Energy and with external organizations. Be responsive to internal and external customers.
Support process improvements. Participate on continuous improvement teams. Demonstrate agility and a positive attitude in complying with the implementation of changes.
Limited travel may be involved periodically to other Black Hills locations may be required periodically.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management or other relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
No experience required. Training provided.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of cloud-based project management software and corporate financial systems of record preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, SharePoint, Access, Word, PowerPoint and databases.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.  
Ability to collaborate with employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a positive and productive manner.
Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail.
