We anticipate the need for one or more Developmental Planner I (s)/II(s)/Maintenance to be located at our Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant in Welch, MN.   This position is for an Instrument & Controls planner, experience in Electrical will be considered.    The base pay for a Development Planner I is $47.26/hr. Based on previous experience, the successful candidate may be brought in at the Planner I,  Planner II or Maintenance Planner level.

Developmental Planner I

1.  Work planning is responsible for the preparation of the work control documents required for supporting preventative, corrective and elective maintenance of equipment and

structures at Prairie Island nuclear site. These work control documents are limited to plant and substation equipment.

2. The Maintenance Planner has a large part in maintaining the reliability of the equipment and structures at the Prairie Island Nuclear Facility and will be required to fulfill some or all of the following responsibilities and have or obtained some of the following skills.

3. Work will be assigned to the Developmental Planner I entry level position based upon

knowledge and skill at the direction of the Planning Supervisor or Lead Planner.

4. The Developmental Planner I will primarily be focused on completion of the Maintenance Planner Qualification Manual to learn and develop the necessary knowledge and skills to develop Work Plans independently. The Job Description for Maintenance Planner will be used to guide the individual on a success path to complete the Qualification Manual and develop simple Work Order packages at the direction of the Supervisor.

5.  The Developmental Planner I stage may be waived commensurate with the minimum requirements set forth in the posted job position for Planner - Bargaining - Nuclear. The waiving of this stage will be based upon work history evaluation, and gap analysis of knowledge and skills by Planning Supervisor.

6.   Until successful completion of the Maintenance Planner Qualification Manual or wavier is granted, entry level Maintenance Planners will be subject to Developmental Planner I pay scale per Exhibit "A".

Developmental Planner II:

1. Developmental Planner II personnel will be qualified to plan work order packages independently. The Job Description for Maintenance Planner will be used to guide the individual on a success path to complete any specialized task job familiarization guides (JFG's) and develop more complex Work Order packages in line with their knowledge and skills.

2. The Developmental Planner II will be observed for up to six months of satisfactory performance to include package quality evaluation by Lead Planner or Planning Supervisor to be promoted to Maintenance Planner. The Developmental Planner II observed evaluation stage time shall not exceed six (6) months.

3. Following the evaluation period and with the approval of the Maintenance Planning Supervisor, the Developmental Planner II will become a Maintenance Planner and subject to Maintenance Planner pay scale per Exhibit "A".

Developmental Planner Skills:

1. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills so as to be able to

Communicate clearly too all types of personnel/customers.

2.  Perform technical duties including researching for repairs of Components / equipment/system in one or more of the following areas, mechanical, electrical or instrument and controls.

3. Ability to read mechanical/electrical/structural/civil and instrumentation diagrams in order to provide guidance for investigation, isolations, repairing and testing. Level of proficiency is specific to area of expertise.
