The Opportunity

TC Energy's Pipeline Integrity (PI) department is evolving to meet the needs of a newly combined gas pipeline business and the PI Program Optimization team is seeking an experienced Pipe Integrity Engineer to lead the development, prioritization, and optimization of the program within a geographic area of responsibility. 

** Position can be based in either Houston or Calgary**

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive view of the Pipe Integrity Program across technical disciplines, ensuring consistency & alignment with corporate goals and objectives.

  • Manage the multi-year work list for PI, ensuring that plan for each asset is optimized, constraints are identified, and risks are communicated.

  • Support the development of the PI program budget, including risk-based prioritization to maximize the impact on asset integrity and performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations & Projects, to gather and analyze data, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the PI program.

  • Support the development and implementation of standardized processes, tools, and metrics to track constraints, monitor the performance of the PI program, identify areas for improvement, and communicate program status & risks to key stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.

  • For Canadian candidates, registered as a P.Eng in the prevailing jurisdiction in good standing (e.g., APEGA in Alberta).

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in pipeline integrity management, with a strong understanding of pipeline risk, integrity assessments and remediation.

  • Proven track record of leading multi-year, cross-functional projects and programs

  • Experience in risk-based decision-making, data analysis, economic analysis and alternatives analysis.

  • Strong leadership with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement innovative solutions.

  • Experience in operations planning or projects would be an asset.
