Description
Position Summary

As a Delivery Lead for Release and Initiatives you will be responsible for delivering a large-scope program. In this role, you will leverage your strong process and technical background and experience supporting the delivery complexities of a large program. You will develop a deep understanding of the company's business processes and the requirements to achieve them. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the program meets its value objectives, is delivered on time, within budget, and to the program's expected quality standards. 

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of a program team (by program release, initiative, etc.) and communicating progress, mitigating risks, and resolving issues. A strong leadership and communication background will help interactions with key stakeholders across the company, including company's business leadership, senior leadership/C-suite, and potentially Board of Trustees.

In addition, you will be responsible for helping to measure progress delivered on program value, collaborating with the Program Office in managing the program's business operations, and supporting the career growth and development of people within the program and across the company.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Value Creation

  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to define program goals and plans and manage program dependencies and critical paths to ensure smooth progress
  • Work with Resource Management to allocate necessary resources for tasks
  • Identify and address potential risks and issues and assist in developing mitigation strategies
  • Establish clear communication channels with stakeholders, providing regular updates
  • Monitor individual project efforts, resolving issues and roadblocks
  • Support program change control, ensuring scope changes are evaluated and approved
  • Develop quality assurance processes, conducting regular reviews coordinated with IV&V partner
  • Address conflicts among project teams, escalating when needed
  • Define and track delivery metrics and KPIs for progress assessment
  • Manage program budgets, adjusting as required
  • Prepare and present regular status reports to sponsors and stakeholders
  • Capture lessons learned and introduce improvements for program efficiency

Business Operations

  • Lead delivery team of Process Analysts, Developers, Testers, and external partners and allocate resources to meet program goals
  • Collaborate with program teams and stakeholders to document release procedures
  • Develop a project delivery plan. Include milestones and overall timelines, budgets, and resource requirements
  • Manage the project budget, including adjustments to forecast and scope
  • Collaborate on identifying release-related risks and issues and develop contingency plans to minimize impacts of issues
  • Ensure quality assurance by conducting regular quality reviews and inspections
  • Resolve delivery issues or escalate to leadership for discussion and solutions
  • Facilitate program release meetings, including program status updates, planning sessions, and issue resolution meetings
  • Keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout delivery lifecycle and coordinate communications between teams
  • Prepare for release, including training, deployment, and related sustainment activities. Maintain comprehensive records of program-related activities
  • Define and track performance metrics and KPIs to assess the program's progress and performance. Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Demonstrated experience in program/project delivery.

Demonstrated people management experience; ideally with teams greater than 20 resources.

Demonstrated ability to manage program scope, schedule, budget, and risks/issues.

Demonstrated knowledge of delivery management methodologies, tools, and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing or sustaining an ERP solution
  • Experience analyzing business process and requirements and developing solutions to introduce efficiencies
  • Experience working in a large-scale organization and complex environments, perhaps in a Consulting or Advisory role
