We're seeking an Engineering Technologist /Engineer or a Senior Level Engineering Technologist/Engineer ready for an exciting opportunity in the Muncie, IN vicinity. With your skills and knowledge, you'll play a crucial role in the development and implementation of the systems and infrastructure needed to efficiently deliver energy services to our valued customers.

·        You'll plan and oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.

·        You'll coordinate effectively with peers, external contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure project success.

The principal responsibility of this Station organization is to provide service and support to the city of Muncie and surrounding communities.  We are responsible for continual service to nearly 150 stations that serve Transmission, Distribution and Interconnection purposes.  An Engineer/Engineering Technologist would be responsible for specialized work involved in the planning, inspecting, testing, receiving, storing, assembling, adjustment and

repair of station equipment such as: power transformers, voltage regulators, current transformers, circuit breakers, switches, circuit switchers, potential devices, power cables, station batteries, power control house security, oil, SF6 gas and all associated accessories.

The Engineer/Engineering Technologist would work collaboratively with other Engineers, Technologists, Technicians and Station Electricians to inspect, maintain and construct various equipment in a substation that operate at various voltages up to and including 765 kV.

Some detail responsibilities of an Engineer/Engineering Technologist:

-        Validating station equipment and updating equipment database

-        Assisting inspections of equipment

-        Analyzing equipment inspections and trends

-        Making recommendations for equipment upgrades, replacements or construction design.

-        Performing seasonal assessments regarding equipment performance and availability

-        Planning and documenting the installation of mobile equipment

-        Providing research and input for the purchase of new tools

-        Coordinating contractor work

This is a field support role with hands-on responsibilities of testing, commissioning and troubleshooting station electrical equipment and spare equipment. Time is typically split 60% in office and 40% in field.

Office duties include work planning, pre-engineering of work, writing work orders, reviewing and/or inputting data records, attend meetings and providing technical guidance and information to other groups.

Field duties include traveling periodically up to 25% attending site visits for upcoming projects, working from heights, and job site crew support and emergency response support.

Position also requires working occasional extended hours beyond the normal work day to accomplish assigned tasks and schedules. Limited contractor initiation and oversight for station maintenance and construction.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software is required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST/ENGINEER-

**Additional requirements must be met for a Senior Level role.

Has typically acquired 2 or more years of related experience in work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering technology principles; Bachelor's degree in engineering technology* in a program accredited by ABET**.

*A degree in engineering technology/engineering is the preferred degree

**ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternatives are (1) a Bachelor's degree in engineering technology (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2) a Bachelor's degree in engineering technology (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering technology from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
