B e a part of the dedicated and collaborative teams that support the corporate functions of ERCOT.  Our teams develop impactful working relationships while leveraging business know-how to support our internal and external customers to maintain the reliability of the electric power grid and wholesale markets.

Designs, codes, tests, documents and maintains applications to meet ERCOT business needs based on the ERCOT defined Software Development Life Cycle. Works closely with customers, business area subject matter experts, team members and other internal technical teams to design, develop and maintain complex ERCOT applications in support of market needs and internal corporate requirements. Uses toolsets that adhere to the frameworks of the technical stack used across the Application Services division and ensures that products and solutions comply with the organization's architectural standards. The Applications Developer works with ERCOT business partners to design, develop and support complex business applications and tools.

JOB DUTIES

  • Understands and applies principles, theories and concepts related to the profession and ERCOT's culture.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Impact is generally limited to specific assignments or projects.
  • May respond to inquiries and/or provide assistance and/or guidance to lower level workers.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert providing guidance to other team members
  • May schedule work, train, mentor, and/or coach other employees
  • Conveys team goals effectively through strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Works on moderately complex issues where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Has the ability to resolve issues in creative and effective ways
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience (in excess of degree requirements) with IAM products such as Oracle Identity Management suite of applications, Savyint, Okta, SailPoint, OneLogon, CyberArk, Centrify, and RSA.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for IAM Services Tier 3 Support
  • Provide leadership in implementing SDLC employing DevOps methods and tech stacks to enable developers' productivity and optimizing time-to-value.
  • Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security and scalability of IAM software architecture.
  • Perform as-is and to-be architecture analysis and develop physical and logical architecture models for the identity and access management components and related systems/applications
  • Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes either individually or in concert with project team
  • Communicates technology design and any related issues to technical and non-technical audiences including customers and technical partners.
  • Provide hands-on consulting and technical support throughout the project life cycle
  • Applies creativity, in-depth technical and theoretical knowledge, and experience in solving highly complex architectural design problems
  • Increases and maintains proficiency as a "Domain Expert" specifically related to IAM, MFA, Privilege Account Management technologies, methodologies, and concepts.
  • Responsible for helping drive IAM projects or assisting applications teams drive the IAM portion of their project acting as a SME to the Project Managers, Developers and other Customers.
  • Prioritization and management of day-to-day activities and long-term project-oriented tasks is essential
  • Participate in project planning and project status communications
  • Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business.
  • Viewed internally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert providing guidance to lower level workers. May schedule work, train, mentor, and/or coach other employees.
  • Develops programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse
  • Uses a variety of IAM platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers.
  • Identifies technical risks and help to define a risk mitigation plan.
  • Provides leadership in the planning, design and architect phases of software or hardware product development
  • Mentors senior developers on best practices in software development, object oriented design
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Requires minimum 5 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
  • Experience with Provisioning lifecycle management
  • Experience with Access Certifications
  • Experience with Single Sign On
  • Experience with Federation
  • Experience with Directory Services
  • Experience with Multifactor Authentication
  • Experience with API Gateways
  • Experience with IAM integrations with on-premise and cloud applications
  • Experience with Cloud Identity Management
  • Experience with Enterprise Role Based Access Control
  • Experience with Privileged Account Management

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • TOGAF certification
  • ITIL certification
  • IAM Domain expertise

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree : Computer Science or related field (Required)
  • or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required

WORK LOCATION:

  • This position is Remote First.  The majority of job duties can be performed remotely from your Texas residence.
  • May be required to be on-site at the Taylor facilities at least once a month, or more based on the business needs and as determined by the Manager
  • Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.  
  • Work arrangements are subject to business needs and are subject to change accordingly
  • Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time
